Can you unbrick a hd2

Does the device charge? If so, how? Hi, 1. The device was bought as used online. It said new on the website but by the look of it i know it is used scratch at laser autofocus and screen not properly glued OR it is a defective one. Yes it does charge with the charger. The one i got charged the phone 0 to in 4 hours. So i use my tablet charger 5V, 2A to charge the phone with another cable about 2h and 15min from 0 to as the cable which came with the phone also causes the slow charging.

When connected to the PC the phone vibrates and charges. It is the first time i've connected the phone with my different PCs. First one i tried without the drivers installed then tried with driver and pc suite installed. In the second PC the driver was installed first then the phone was connected. No positive result. No, no sound at all. But i remember that there was some android adb stuff in the device manager maybe same to the ACER Then i heard a sound when connecting the phone.

And right after that another sound, in my taskbar it says unknown device and error i forgot the error code. But nothing on my phone in the notifications, it just charges. Under USB controllers in my pc i could see Unknown usb composite device something like that with yellow exclamation mark. I googled and had this uninstalled. Since then no sound at all. I cannot return the phone for exchange as the shipping cost would be too much for me to afford about USD I am waiting for a software update as maybe this will solve the problems.

I am still with kit kat 4. But if this is a hardware issue, it would be difficult to solve this. I have the same problem Maybe you have some problems with usb port. I use usb hubs in such situations. Somehow, gadget seamlessly connects to a PC via the the extraneous device. I found good reviews for usb hubs on topchoice. I am on a stock based rom. If you are using aosp or cm based you might find the mtp in storage settings. If the previous owner defaults the connection to charge only then windows will not detect the phone.

A friend of mine did the same and i found the setting to reset back to a mtp connection when plugged in with usb. If i remember i had to hit the ellipsis button The three dots and it was in there. Sorry i am vague but it was a long time ago and i am stock based.

If somebody running aosp or cm can chime in and tell him where exactly that setting is that would be nice. Otherwise goggle it. Good luck my friend!

There is not options for MTP even after connecting the phone. I know for my friend when he connect his, he get the notification to change to charge only, MTP etc from the notification bar, but mine nothing. I done factory reset so, I do not think that the default setting is still set to charge only.

The USB connection mode choice window on the phone does not pop up. The phone does go into charging mode, with LED and taskbar icon working. Things I've tried: 1. Nexus 4 gets recognized instantly using all of these on all 3 PCs. Restarted the phone and all PCs to no avail. Factory reset the phone. Any other ideas? As you can probably guess, the half of the story that involves my friend's actions on the tablet are word-of-mouth, seeing as the device was given to me in a totally bricked state.

Following some instructions I was able to find on these forums, I tried installing NVFlash, and running the --bl bootloader. From what I gathered, this is evidence of a locked bootloader.

I wasn't able to find any posts dealing specifically with a bricked device that is only recognized in APX mode, and how to unlock the bootloader in such cases. Is there a guide available by any chance? Update 2 : I've extracted the battery, but I seem to be unable to remove the residual charge, as the device shows up APX as connected, as soon as I plug in my USB cable. Before I had the red screen, it did find it and it worked OK. I have all the drivers and the SDK installed.

Thx for bringing up the youtube issue, its something most would have taken for granted. You pay so much money and do not expect to jump through hoops to get it to work. It seems youtube does not like giving access unless they can push ads or have some sort of agreement which companies like ASUS decided not to opt for.

I wanted to go for cheaper Asus Mini but spent too much on this HD2, now this damn thing cant even play simple youtube. Anyway to highlight this to Asus? Hope they can release new firmware..

I really dont want to go with flashing of Moservices as other functions of NAS works fine with default firmware. Praks said:.
