Why super size me is stupid
February 19, Interesting Okay it will make not want to eat McDonalds. This title contains: Language. Adult Written by Ruthie85 November 11, Teens and preteens need a break from sitting still. Parents should help motivate their kids to get more exercise. Plus, there should be mandatory P. This title contains: Positive Messages. Positive role models. I think this is a very inspiring film because America is slowly turning into the fattest nation in the world! It talks about how the government has helped fast food restaurant grow into a business that fattens people by the day.
It also talks about how they try and petition against them by making them come up with healthier choices. There are a few scenes that are advisable to fast-forward through, including a very graphic scene of a stomach staple surgery.
Your child should be at least 12 to watch it with a parent. It is such an important film to show to your kids but watch out as there is profanity, references to sex, and shows numerous scenes where they draw blood. I believe anyone 10 and up should be able to watch this as long as the parents mute the bad words and skip over the parts where sex is mentioned.
It is really important to show children and teens this so they can be geared with the right tools for eating right. Adult Written by pout98 February 24, I was shocked on how many people eat fast food almost daily.
This is a very big eye opener on food itself, in schools and out. This is a movie I think everyone should watch.
If children are going to watch this, there is a little swearing and talk about sex. You really need to have a strong stomach for this movie. He did go to different doctors to make sure he was healthy and get numbers to various things in his body.
During the month, he went and had blood work and weight checked. After the month, he went and had all the tests again to show what the difference was from before the start until the end. Positive Messages. Adult Written by Annoyedteenguy May 14, Well, We watched this in biology. Our teacher would tell us "Earmuffs" when a swear was about to be uttered but none of us did it. I was laughing the whole time. This did show the negative effects of a mickey ds addiction and diet. Nothing a 12 year old cant handle. It is very educational. Parent of a 10 and year-old Written by Finnella Flanagan October 29, Good for 13 and up Considering how awful the eating habits are of so many Americans, I think the iffy material is worth putting up with because of the educational value of the rest of the movie.
Best viewed with your child so you can discuss the movie and get the most out of it. Parent of a year-old Written by Zachary Sohrab October 27, When I mean "bad role models" I mean the McDonalds corporation itself not anyone else! Messages as extreme as the one communicated in the documentary are almost always damaging. The amount of food the subject is shown to consume is not consistent with the caloric intake reported.
The subject consumes more food than his stomach can physically hold, and more than almost anyone actually consumes. This is a 17 year-old documentary and much of the information provided and policies challenged have changed.
He also drastically changes his lifestyle in tandem with his diet, and cuts out nearly all of his physical activity. His reactions are overly dramatic, unrealistic, and psychosomatic at best. Perhaps one of the most shocking things about this movie is just how gratuitous and unprofessional it is. Within the first ten minutes we see the subject undergo a rectal exam. The movie is spattered with satirical and uncomfortable images and transitions. The language is often foul and much of the information given is inappropriate and unwarranted.
While not focused upon, there is an odd amount sexual imagery shown on-screen. As well as an unnecessarily graphic surgery. The video is so incredibly biased, it pushes a very obvious agenda, and quite plainly falsifies information to do so. I have no respect for this movie nor anyone involved with it.
The subject: Morgan Spurlock has been charged with multiple accounts of rape and sexual assault since the production of the documentary. This title contains: Sexy stuff. Kid, 11 years old July 27, Great documentary on the downs of fast food Super-Size Me is a documentary about a guy who sees the outcome of eating fast food for 30 days straight.
It shows needles sticking into the skin, and some elements in the body, which may gross-out sensitive viewers. After eating a huge McDonalds meal, Morgan is shown throwing up. Characters who have died are shown.
There is some mild nude. There is some drinking and smoking. The positive messages in this film are consulting you on your health, and how junk food is a bad source. Morgan is curious, and shows how much he is dedicated to telling people the dangers of junk food. Kid, 11 years old June 16, Interesting look into health What would happen if you ate nothing but McDonalds for a month? That is the question posed here. Its pretty mild, the most inappropriate scene is a scene of a surgery at the end of the month but otherwise a little kid can watch this.
Green equals good, as Spurlock discovers. A news investigation discovered that Newark Bay was so contaminated that anything swimming in it was carcinogenic. And she did it In four minutes.
